Fancy Nancy and #ThrowBackThursday

My very own Fancy Nancy and ode to #throwbackthursday.
Vintage photo below (edited through PicMonkey)
is our family without dad at the local USO getting our picture made with Santa.
My mom, the cutest woman on the planet, is probably 34ish here with 6 children.
OMG
How did she do it?

Santa and the Seays 1967

Back to Nancy, she's the infant in the photo starring at the tree.

Nancy, sweet Nancy, the 3rd twin.  All these years later she wants a muff like ours(see photo).  I mentioned that to our mom recently and she said Nancy DID have a muff when she was younger, but it didn't make it in the photo.  Yay!  We have dispelled the "special" twin muff dispute.

My sis, Nancy, had the hair I always wanted. Thick, red and cute curls.

Oh, how I wanted curls like those!
Here, one of my favorite photos of her ever. We loved to play dress up, hence the ball gown. In her lap is a neighbor's dog: Precious. (the most spoiled dog we knew back then-he ate better than his owner).

Let us pause a  moment and enjoy her bare feet.

My sis, a loyal friend, dear sister, Mom

and loving Nana.  Watching her with her grandchildren makes me want to be an Oma soon.  No pressure-little brown eyed girl.

Nancy makes me laugh and more importantly, she makes herself laugh so hard she cries.
Here she is doing her version of the newest scandal. twerking

Miley Cyrus has nothing on her
My sis loves to  chase orbs, check out how many are in this photo!

and she's experimenting with beads and painting

To you sis, happy #throwbackthursday!

Peace Out and Kiss my Ass Revisited

Revisiting old blog posts today and this one caught my eye.
Peace Out and Kiss my ass

In a nut shell I said.
Yep, heard those words today!
And, not just from anybody.
But from someone posing as a GOOD role model for girls.

Well, you know what I have to say to that?  Rock on with your bad self and move on from my organization!

This picture is so not me...but the MR loves when I do something out of character.
And here are the comments:

  • You were way too kind...
  • you handled everything with c l a s s
  • If they said that because they were fired, I'd react as a relieved person to have weeded them out.

  1. Funny thing is after a year I can't even remember who told me that.  But, lets see what your thoughts are..
  2. Sock it to me.
  3. I'm going through an anger phase and I want to hear your angry words.
  4. Give it your best shot
  5. What have you got to lose.

Mondays are a lame way to spend 1/7 of your life

I was just google searching for an "I hate Monday's photo when I found the above cartoon on another blog.
I believe most of the people that read my postings understand I'm just being silly.
It's just a cute theme for Mondays.
I don't hate Mondays
I don't discriminate against them or make them sit at the back of the bus
I just enjoy saying how much I hate them.  Just an expression.
To me, Monday is like any other day.
Except that it follows a Sunday where I get to rest and relax and take long Sunday naps
Except that, because of those Sunday naps I don't want to go to bed until late
Except that that dern alarm clocks goes off way to early on the first day after Sunday
So..
maybe I do hate Mondays.
Sorry Mondays.  I'll pay for your therapy.

This blog had some interesting insights into Monday hatred.

Right on, Man

You know how sometimes you get the best insights from your friends.
The other day a dear friend of mine said, "...Georgie you kind of swing toward hippy...you try to hide it, but you do." I've been pondering that since my friend declared it.

The age old question of "Who am I?"   When someone says Hippy, I think sex, drugs and rock and roll.  Not that there is anything wrong with that--if that's your thing.

That's not me though. I'm the good girl type....check out those dimples:. Could those dimples get into trouble?
...maybe. deny everything
that's my cute mom, by the way. The sweetest lady on the planet.

The Mr thought it was so cool that someone thought I was "hippy-ish" Rusty, that silly man says, "I like the earth mother type."
ok
hang on
I ain't no earth mother either.
Although when I googled earth mother images they were pretty cool.  Check the image out below. I think I need to find out where this is an add it to my bucket list.

Anyhow I'm rambling today-it's been awhile since I've blogged--don't have my groove on yet.
Stay tuned, give me your input and tell me what you think about hippies and earth mothers.

By the way, it's been almost a year now since the Mr was diagnosed with neck cancer and you would never know it if you hadn't been through it.  He looks and feels great. Here he is celebrating his birthday. Yay!

bazooka-zooka

A letter to my dear ol' dad. Today, November 11, 2013 marks another Veteran's Day.

You tell us stories today of the good old days: the days when you barely escaped a bombing by diving out of the "bar" and into the bunker. And, everyone knew if you yelled, "Take cover," then they better take cover.  I love the story about how you jumped in the jeep to go get some bread for the breakfast meal only to find out you were on the front line.  Thank goodness no one got ya while you were out getting bread.

Most of all, I can remember those times when you would go off to either take another tour of Vietnam or when you returned from a long leg of training and all I wanted to do was crawl up in my daddy's lap and be with you.

From personal experience I know that there are many men that don't return from war. ( RIP Tommy Field and other from October 3rd, 1993.) I thank my lucky stars and my God in heaven that I have you in  my life today.
love ya pops!
