Two for ohhhhh

Hello Cupcake,
Why yes, I'll gobble you up. Thanks for offering yourself up for my daily caloric allowance. (I wonder how many weight watcher points you'll cost me?)

This particular set of pics are from our big four ohhhhh birthday, we celebrated by painting pottery and spending the day together.  That year I surprised my sis by decorating her work cubicle.  Funny thing, some of her coworkers thought I was my sister decorating my cube for my birthday.  If you knew my twin you would understand her co-workers thoughts.
That's they way she rolls: Party time!

For my bloggy friends leave  me a comment on what kind of camera you use to take pictures of your projects.  I have a $100 camera: Nikon coolpix L100.  I'm trying to learn how to use it, but am just not happy with it's clarity.  I am using more lights and I've learned to use some of the advanced settings....
but...I suffer from camera envy.

a little dark on the left side.

I'm including these in Anything But a Card mini Challenge, where I used 3 stencils: chevrons, cupcake and stars.  How have you used stencils?  Leave me a comment on what type of media you used and even a link to the posting.  I'll come by for a visit to your blog.  Don't tell the Mr but I have so many stencils that I haven't used yet...thank goodness Ryan Gosling is ok with my spending at Michaels.
Hey Girl

I'll be adding this layout to the Color Me Scrappy color challenge & to My Scraps and more Sketches

This little corner of the layout includes features from Life and Creations of Tee: butterflies, buttons and pearls! Love the little sequins running up the page too!

One more challenge I'm linking to is The Shabby Tea Room "Bits and Bobbles"
where I needed to include flowers, buttons, prints and a sentiment.

Happy birthday Twinnie--you are literally my other half.
Thanks for stopping by for some Puddin N Pie.

Character development

Way back at the turn of the century
Hell yay,
Turn of the century.
Seems like eons ago.
I remember staying up on NYE 1999 to party like it was 1999(old Prince song). Now...I party with my teenage daughter as much as a mom can party. we did--right into the new century.

I found this blog challenge that is called Child's Play Challenges, where they use iconic childhood toys as inspiration.  The latest challenges encouraged participants to use pipe cleaners(chenille sticks for today's crafters) and I just happened to have these really cute pipe cleaner flowers in my stash collection.  My friends at Craft Hoarders Anonymous would be so proud.  I added some rhinestone brads in the middle of each flower, the picture doesn't do it justice.

If you're like me and you have 20+ years of photos in a box and need a little inspiration, follow the link to some of these blogs(and many more)  There is so much inspiration for you-go check it out!

I played along with this sketch Creative Scrappers Blog  and this color themed blog, Creating with Paper and More

If you're quick you can still play along!  This was a great way to use some scraps which followed along with the guidelines from this challenge blog:  Lasting Memories Scrapbook Layout Challenges
There's 10 different scraps in this image.
Within the scraps is a card front I made and didn't use. See the yellow layer? I used a template and modeling paste for the "white" part of the image, but before I added the stencil I used water and distress stains to color the  white card stock--which follows along with the challenge over at S.W.A.T. blog: mixed media!
cool layers of scraps
I know you're in awe of my abilities.
I know you are.
go on
admit it.

go on

Well shucks, you've gone and hurt my feelings by not admitting my awesomeness. I guess that means you better leave a real nice comment below to make up for it.

Attached to one of the pipe cleaner flowers if a die cut tea cup with a star and a key-that reads JOY-!

And finally because we sparkle, I added some sequins and wood veneer stars along the photo edge.  The challenge blog Craft Hoarders Anonymous asked me to show off my stashed glitz and sequins certainly fall into that category. I have sequins hoarded from as far back as 1980s..
no judgement people.

Thanks for stopping by for some Puddin N Pie

Dance Party Friday, ya'll dance with me.

I'd love to stay, but really, I mustache....

2013 was a tumultuous year, I was glad to kick 2013 to the curb, say Adios, and see it's tail lights in my rear view mirror.  After the storm comes the calm, is that the saying?  Either way, this chick is glad for calm, peace, JOY, and laughter in 2014 and beyond.

It also helps that I'm medicated and I'm always happy now. (thank you modern medicine)
My nurse friend used to call it the Zoloft shuffle.
I'm a proud dancer of that shuffle, join along with me on this video.  or here.

I call it being the queen of 2014:
joy, love, laughter, family
What the heck does any of that have to do with this photo.

Nothing, absolutely nothing.
Except that I have time to stop and enjoy creating.
I created this layout using this photo as inspiration from Let's Capture Our Memories Color Spot
and this sketch from Paper Secrets

This close up features most of the shades of green.
Can you see that itsy bitsy key attached to the ribbon. LOVE it.
The Paper Secrets challenge also asked us to use something with each of these letters
Sequins, Parents, Round doily, Ink, Names, Green
i love the wood veneer arrow and sequins!! YEEE
Finally, Scrap Our Stash Challenge #2 asked me to use a paper doily. AND, Craft Hoarders  Anonymous again to feature some of the papers I have in my stash.
I love this iconic photo of my parents with the orange leather recliner

Ya'll!  Do you know how hard it is to hit all these points in one layout?
Are you impressed?

you're not?

what's the matter with you?

Thanks for stoppin' by for some Puddin' N Pie.

Far, Far Away

Hi dear bloggy friends,
before we get into this layout, take a moment and feast your eyes on the sweet girl in the photo.
My mom, the cutest woman on the planet, is age 15 here.
She grew up in Germany and I thought this paper was so appropriate for this image and this layout.  When she and I visited Germany back in 1981(when I was close to 15) we visited the iconic castle, Neuschwanstein

For this layout I'm linking up to Craft Hoarders Anonymous for a vintage style layout. The question was asked during the challenge, "...what type of vintage things to do you hoard or snag at yard sales?"  Keep reading to find out....
Join along at Craft Hoarders, you have plenty of time to enter.

Along with hoarding I also am linking to a color challenge at Color Me Scrappy  Challenge Blog. You can link your projects there to, click the link and play along.

This one picture shows just about every color in the challenge.  Hardest for me was finding the grayish blue color.  For hoarding, I go straight to piles of books, magazines, paper products to find some great buys at yard sales.  At the top left of this photo you can barely see a remnant of a black and gold piece of paper and a torn book page, additionally I look for lace. OH MY GOSH, at an estate sale I hit the mother load of vintage lace and seam binding! I felt a little creeped out going through this woman's stash, but reminded myself that she would want a lover of lace to have her leftover.   Right?

And, again, my awesome-ness is evident in the imaging I created without even meaning to!  Check out how the background paper has a castle in it and the torn book page with the woman on a horse has a castle in it to.  I almost forgot how awesome I was and then I saw this in the camera lens.

There are so many little treasures on the page, including stamps from a penpal in Kenya way back in the 1990s. All my craft hoarding friends can so identify with how hard it was for me to glue these stamps to this page. For goodness sake, I've been holding onto them since 1994 or so!  The medalion is from a thrift store in Ohio, I paid maybe $2 for a bag full of St. Christopher pendants and other Catholic saints.  I'm not catholic but had to have them!

I"m linking up to these challenge blogs too, check em out and tell them Puddin N Pie sent you!

Rochelle Spears Tic Tac Toe challenge

I used birds, clouds and canvas

I'm so proud of my use of the Catholic Mother Mary heart shaped medallion

Scrap Our Stash Stash-athon Challenge #1, layering. Lots and lots and lots of layering.
and finally, Anything but a card Challenge Blog "Sparkle" because my mom sparkles and taught me how to sparkle in my life too! Check out this posting about my mom!

Keep Calm & Laugh

Hi Friends!
Hold on tight cause the following blog post contains a whole lot of awesomeness.  Life has changed a lot for me in the past year allowing me more ME time.  I'm so thankful and happy to challenge myself, use my stash, and define my style.

Let's get started:  My first inspiration for this layout is from  Scrap YOUrself Challenge Blog,  Really love the concept of this challenge blog because I have to create a layout with me in the photos.  If you're a scrapper then you should stop at this blog to scrap YOUrself. The theme this month is Keep Calm and _____, it was up to me to decide on with that & ____ was.  I chose LAUGH.

Alpha Wars over at Lasting Memories Challenge Blog challenged me to use 2+ different fonts in my layout.  I said goodbye to some of my stash by using 7 different alphas on this page. (so proud of myself for being strong and using my letters)

The next few challenges are all from a network of blogs called Scrappy Friends, stop by and join in the fun! I'm join in is a sketch challenge hosted by: Grand Divas Creative Corner

I dig the slanted border on this page, I sure wish you could see a better image of it. The top right border is 3d birds--so cute.  Again, I am so proud let go of my stash for this page!

Let's take just a second to admire the smiling faces on this page. That's me sans 60 lbs and 17 years of age and my cute little 12 year old brown eyed girl.  We loved going to the photo booth at the mall and this was one of those times.

I used Creating with paper and more challenge blog for the color pallet. For me, this was a tough combo to work with and again very challenging. I only had to use 3 of the colors, but I was able to get all of them into the layout.  If you look real close-with a magnifying glass you can see light pink in the birdie borders.

And, one more challenge is Rochelle Spears Tic Tac Toe Challenge where I used:

Bird, Border Strips and Paint.
AND finally, we SPARKLE on this page and including our sparkly faces and sequins to Scrap our Stash-a-thon for Challenge #3.

Thanks for coming by for some puddin n pie!
