I'm holding you for ransom!!

Welcome to the ABC Ransom Blog Hop,
hosted by Red Carpet Studio!

If you've come from Sandra's blog, you're in the right place.

The Red Carpet Studio designers thought it would be fun to host a mystery blog hop while showcasing projects that can be made using all those leftover letters in your stash - hence where the "ransom" comes in. Ransom notes play a huge role in mystery/suspense films, and are often created out of random letters cut from magazines, newspapers, etc. in order to disguise handwriting.

While we won't be doing any kidnapping or holding anybody ransom today - we do have some creative projects to share with you!

For my project using leftover letters in my stash, I created  a layout featuring the little brown eyed girl.  I have a drawer full of leftover alphabets and am glad to use them in this layout.  Here, I used similar numbers to create 2005.  Along the bottom edge I wrote out "the 2 of us," you can't see US too well. It's covered by the flowers.

OF from left over letters...note the pretty layers, just under the key is a beautiful envelope lining.  My mom sent it to me so I could use it in a creation.
I used type writer letters to write "once upon a time"

I loved how I tucked the stamped birdbath under all the layers.  Check out the lady playing peek-a-boo on the right.  What you don't see is she's holding a peacock.

We're also holding some blog candy ransom! However, the blog candy is hidden, and only certain stops of the hop are hiding it. The only way you can win is if you comment on those blogs! Now, we're not going to tell you whose blogs those are (that would be too easy) but we will tell you what the prizes are!

And don't forget to check out this week's challenge at Red Carpet Studio! Our challenge this week is inspired by "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" and the challenge is to create any fall or Halloween card.

Your next stop is Dawn's blog.

P.S. My letter is A

If you can put all the letters together from each stop of the hop (they're in order), you have a chance to win a mystery prize! Once you've figured out our hidden message, email it to redcarpetstudiochallenge@gmail.com. The mystery prize winner will be announced with the other winners on Sunday November 4th. HINT: The message is a clue as to what our next layout challenge will be. :)

The ring!

First, if you are here for the Crafter's Giveaway, please scroll down to next posting.
Today's submission for Red Carpet Studio Design Team is based on the movie, "The Ring." It's only inspired by "The Ring," not scary stuff, cause I'm not into that! My ring layout is around wonderful moment in my life. the little brown eyed girl came for a visit and really spent some time with us. The main photo is where we are all sitting on the couch reading. We really were all sitting there reading and I had to take a picture. Lovely memory!

It's all in a day

This week at Red Carpet Studios we are challenging you to create a layout with the theme: "Child's Play."
I opted to use one of my most favorite photos of my daughter playing with the neighborhood children.

Note the tire tracks around the patio.  You can tell these guys have been riding the track for awhile.  Maybe we should call it the "Grandpa 500," since it was at my parent's home.
I added the words:
"Play All Day"
check out the cool silhouette bird rub ons.  LOVE

Stamped, WE on the side of the page and some distressed stamped old timey bikes.  I want to add a little chain between the bikes, but just haven't gotten around to it.  Do you love the paper?  Swooned over this design.
Speaking of paper, not that the doily is sitting on top of a blue and brown striped paper.  That was the original background and I didn't like it.  So, I just cut most of it out and attached to the green and blue paper.

Welcome to our award show venue! Every first week of the month Red Carpet Studio will host an award show for the winners who won the previous month's challenges. The nominees will include each week's randomly chosen winner and also each week's spotlight submissions, categorized by the different challenges. The four winners of each week's challenge will be running against each other so bloggers can vote for which creation they like best based on creativity, skill, and the use of the challenge inspiration.

This page will include photos of all the creations created by the nominees and the links to their projects so you can find out more details about how each project was made. Nominees can only be nominated for one category per month. Polls will be added to the right sidebar of the blog and as you take a look at the nominations for each category you can cast your vote.
