Wrong Season, Happy Layout!

Someone asked me the other day, "How do you like blogging?"  I said, "I love it, but I'm trying to determine where I want to go with it....do I want to remain a personal blog or something else..."
Something else yet to be determined
Until then, I'll continue what I'm doing and I'm sure the direction I need to take will become clear.
Let's go.
I'm entering into a challenge with The Studio Challenge Blog to follow this sketch:

Here's my entry, remember I've learned that I enjoy have a solid color for my pages and add embellies as I want.
Poor little brown eyed girl, I have 27 years of photos in boxes waiting for something to do with them.  Guess you gotta start somewhere.  I chose this picture because it's on of my favs.  The little brown eyed dracula and Minnie Mouse.  My daughter, she always wanted to be the "creepy" halloween character. I take that back. She was Scarlett O'hara once.  (nevermind she wanted me to paint blood on her)

I'm also including this page into the Party Time Tuesday double your chances challenge where I needed to incorporate ribbon.
The purple bead is from a dollar store party favor, I cut the bead out of the necklace.
I so dig how the little witches feet hang out from under the black ribbon!
The stars are originally christmas ornaments I bought on clearance. No one wanted them because the ribbons were all tangles. How hard is it to cut the ribbon!  Easy-peasy!
Deets

That's 12 layers of paper, border, embellishments in one shot. Can you name them all?
Until next time friends,
Thanks for coming by for some Puddin N Pie.

Double Sweet

I made my first double page layout with this posting.
The first is a sweet photo of me and my mom made back in 1992.
My big sister Kathy graduated from nursing school and we were celebrating.
It doesn't seem that long ago, does it?
Unless you weren't born by 1992
which would mean that it sounds really long ago.
1992 Austin Peay State University
I'm still defining my style and I think I have determined, that although I love all kinds of paper, to create scrapbook pages I enjoy having a solid background and adding embellishments.

Close up of some elements on this page:

I'm linking this scrapbook page to Scrap Friends , in particular, this challenge sketch.

I'm also including this page in the 123 Get Scrappy  Challenge #6 where I needed to include 3 items from this grid.  Obviously I used the color blue, then I tore some paper and added some hand doodling.

ON TO PAGE TWO
The other side of this scrapbook page are pictures from the same day. Except this time I'm including photos of the graduating sister and my baby sis, Nancy.

and some details

I'm linking this page up to Inspired Blueprints challenge sketch 117 and Reasonable Ribbon Challenge where the theme is Valentines Day and what deeper love is there than a mother for her daughter.

Thanks for stopping by and gettin' you some Puddin N Pie

Cheers to Words of Wisdom Wednesday

I made this card for an upcoming birthday, hopefully, that person isn't reading this blog right now.
If you are a person with a January birthday, then stop reading and come back after your birthday!

I used up some of my stash for Our Creative Corner "No more Sins"  challenge.   I love microbeads and a few YEARS ago the local craft store was eliminating their stock.  I have way to many to claim here on this blog or in other words...my husband reads this blog and would know way too much about what I have stashed away.

I also used up paper I've been hanging onto for ages, the black and white stripe-it was so difficult cutting into it. Life is tough when you have a paper addiction.  Ryan Gosling understands...

Something new for this card the Cricut cartridge, Suburbia.  I used the image  "Joan" with her sassy martini glass.   I bought the cartridge with a gift card from my inlaws, they know I have an addiction and want to enable me as much as possible.    There are some very hip images on this cartridge and I'm so glad I found it on sale for $19.99.  The layers underneath the silhouette use another Cricut cartride,  Accent Essentials.                          .

Up close image of martini glass with microbeads.

Words of Wisdom for today?

I find this very encouraging!  What do you imagine to be your full potential?  Me, I'm just scratching the surface.

I made my mom a really cute card for her birthday and then forgot to take a picture of it!
arrgh, don't you hate when you do stuff like that?
I've got another card in the making-maybe I can remember to take a photo this time?
Wish me luck!

5 regrets of the dying #4

Have you seen this before?

I've chosen as my goal for the year to focus on one area a week.  Isn't that a grand idea!?  I was so proud of myself when I thought of that.

This week I chose to focus on reconnecting with old friends.  That's an easy one, right?
Which should I do next week?

Cathey  came by for a visit

Nancy had mexican with me

thanks for the carriage ride rachel!

here a twine, there a twine. everywhere a twine, twine

Project #1 for the new year.

Which color twine do you think I should use on this tag?  Underneath the tag is the card the tag will be attached to.   Tell me in your comment which is your favorite color  and do you have a favorite memory associated with that color.

For instance, me, I love the color pink-it reminds me of when I was a newborn (because I can remember back that far), my parents put a pink bracelet on my wrist and a yellow bracelet on my twin's.

Although...
I have a theory that my oldest sister, Margie quietly snuck  into our bedroom and switched our bracelets when mom wasn't looking. She's like that.

But, then again, I think Patsy, my 3rd eldest sister, came in a few minutes later and switched them too. In the little scenario that I've made up Patsy didn't realize she was switching them back to the original child.

It was hard to tell us apart, check out this vintage photo where my mom had to put our initials on which one was which.
I wear glasses all the time, while Jaymie doesn't have too.
Come back next week to see the final project, but that time I would've given the card to the recipient and I won't be spoiling their surprise.

Words of Wisdom Wednesday

Last year my Wednesday postings were called "Wacky Wednesday," I've evolved and now every Wednesday we will follow the theme: Wednesday Wisdom.  Besides, I can use this #wednesdaywisdom and be on trend.

But, who says wise has to be serious. I couldn't pass it up.
Tune in tomorrow for a new project I've been working on.
See ya then!!

If you'd like to be on trend like me, (*insert sarcasm) check out this post from Instagram.
