Cheers to Words of Wisdom Wednesday

I made this card for an upcoming birthday, hopefully, that person isn't reading this blog right now.
If you are a person with a January birthday, then stop reading and come back after your birthday!

I used up some of my stash for Our Creative Corner "No more Sins"  challenge.   I love microbeads and a few YEARS ago the local craft store was eliminating their stock.  I have way to many to claim here on this blog or in other words...my husband reads this blog and would know way too much about what I have stashed away.

I also used up paper I've been hanging onto for ages, the black and white stripe-it was so difficult cutting into it. Life is tough when you have a paper addiction.  Ryan Gosling understands...

Something new for this card the Cricut cartridge, Suburbia.  I used the image  "Joan" with her sassy martini glass.   I bought the cartridge with a gift card from my inlaws, they know I have an addiction and want to enable me as much as possible.    There are some very hip images on this cartridge and I'm so glad I found it on sale for $19.99.  The layers underneath the silhouette use another Cricut cartride,  Accent Essentials.                          .

Up close image of martini glass with microbeads.

Words of Wisdom for today?

I find this very encouraging!  What do you imagine to be your full potential?  Me, I'm just scratching the surface.

Ladybug, Ladybug fly away home....

Ever heard the song,
Ladybug, Ladybug, Fly Away home, your house is on fire and your children are alone.
That's a bit creepy, isn't it. So, this little ladybug took her babies with her.

These little ones are special because they represent our "little" family.
Look closely they all have initials to represent each of us and there's two identical babies for the twins!
Happy Saturday!

I used the "Live Simply" cricut cartridge
I cut a green background(my mom's favorite) then added a little rubon of leaves and branches.
 What ribbon should I add?
Entering this into
BBTB2 challenge ladybug/bee challenge!

It's Dik and Dot! Oh my!

It's true I'm a gnome fan.  I've had a love affair with gnomes since I was a little girl and would visit my mother's bff and she had cuuuttee littlen gnomes in her garden.  This was way back in 1970, so her gnomes were cool, way before they became "trendy."

Dik and Dot, the gnomes.  Chickadee and Myrtle and Pepe, the ladybugs.

I've never been particularly interested in Salt and Pepper shakers, but when I saw these cute gnomes in a retail shop...I had to have them. We named them Dik and Dot after a couple of neighbors.  Just because I love they way Dik and Dot sound together.  The neighbor actually spells his name Dick, but I thought it was much cuter to name this gnome with an interesting spelling.

Also in this picture is a set of ladybug salt and pepper shakers I stole from my mother's home.  My cute mom, ya'll remember her, right?  The cutiest little 79 year old on the planet?

I took these cute little ladybug off her hands and decided to name them Myrtle and Pepe...my MR and my nicknames for each other.  We decided this one was Pepe...

He's lost one of his antennae in some horrendous accident, that we dont' even want to imagine. How horrible for Pepe!

Family portrait of all my kitschy stuff. We couldn't wake sleepyhead up for nothin'.

Oh, and here's a little bit of cricut cut cards....

Wacky Doodle Wednesday! (and a Giveaway)

Welcome to Wacky doo Wednesday.  A pause in our busy week to laugh and enjoy life.  Here's a little bit of Halloween layover from my twinny!  She's silly that way!

Remember yesterday I promised a picture of the winner's gift from last week and here it is.  I'm not going to apologize for the not so good quality picture...because...well....as you can see, it's just fuzzy and there ain't a thing to do about it while I'm sitting in my office.  (don't tell my boss I'm blogging while on the clock)

The little banner says "let your light shine" and it's a magnet.  I just loved the way these turned out!
Now...remember to go to go to this link to win a card like this.  It might not be the same color or word....but I guarantee it will be beautiful!

Right now, there are only a few entries for this lovely handmade card.  Don't you want a chance to win?  Come on and leave me a comment here.

Hold up Sunday, I ain't ready to go back to work!

I love a lazy Sunday, no work to mess with, just chilling with my Mr and the kitten.  Today is a lovely day in Nashville TN.  The weather promises to be bright and sunshiny and just freaking lovely!

Yesterday I worked on these cards.  At first these were going to be Marie Antionette xmas cards.  But, I just couldn't get motivated to make them xmas cards.  Instead I just let the ladies dance across the cards.  I am getting smarter on mass producing cards: making several of the same at one time.

Doesn't this Marie look nice.  I was a bit worried about the simplicity, but just couldn't bring myself to add more to the cards.

The Mr felt like this Marie's hair was weird, but what would I do with it?  What would you do with her head?  I'm up for solutions.  Otherwise...I'm leaving it.

Sookie said, "No more work!!" And starting lying right in the middle of everything!

This canvas will eventually turn out as a collaged piece.  But, I have been stuck--
Until...I ran across this blog yesterday  paperlicious delicious. Lesley has inspired me to work on this a bit more! Thanks Lesley!

Some friends of mine have opened a bakery and have asked me to make some cards to sell at their shop.  What do you think!

Here are the envelopes, modeled by our very own Sookie Horn, the kitten.

Feeling a little fussy?

Fussy, on a friday!?  What's the matter with me?
If you had to share your pop's lap with a twin, you'd be fussy too!  Move over Jaymie...I need more space!

But, I'm also feeling fussy because I've entered into a "Fabulous Friday Fussy Cut" challenge over at Frosted Designs.  I'm showing off one of my first cards I made.

I've learned many new techniques since this I made these cards and have been inspired to pull Marie out of hiding for some new cards.  The cards not only feature a Marie Antionette image, but also a BEE image.  The bee is the mascot of my women's club and these cards were made as thank you cards.

unfortunately I didn't have the right setting on my camera and this card looks a little greenish.  It was yellow.

She's floating in the air!
Be easy on your critiques, remember these are my first cards!  I am excited to try again and make some other techniques.

Red, white and Pink?

It's the fourth of July weekend and I'm working with pink.  Couldn't help myself, this week's  Summer of Color challenge is pink.  I am so in love with these cards....tell me what you think:

I bought a set of blank cards with scalloped edges from Michael's.  From there I stamped my favorite chandeliers with some distress ink around the edges.

It's a little hard to see from this angle, but each card has some Martha Stewart Microbeads as accents.  I just love the microbeads and my local Michael's is clearancing them, so they are cheaper than normal.  I keep going back for more!!  I feel like a crack head...today I was hoping not to see the same cashier I've seen everyday for the last 2 weeks.   "uh, no honey, that's not a Michael's bag in my hand...."

Some people think I don't have any patience(ahem, Mr. Horn, I'm only picking on him because I know he's reading this blog!!), but check out this card.  It took every bit of concentration and patience to glue and apply the beads to this chandelier.

I think these are my favorites because I just put a little dab of glue on these
My "dream," "hope," and "believe" stamps get a lot of use.  I love a bargain and those puppies were only $1 a piece.  Yay me!

I just love this sentiment.....it looks so beautiful with this image.

Double sided sticky tape is fan-freakin'-tastic!!

I added a stamp to the outside of the envelopes too.
Lovely, aren't they!?
