four generations side by side
Check out these four pictures. Love them!!
From left to right.
My grandmother, Gertrude circa 1940 around 40 years of age
My mother, Gerda, circa 1953 at 20 years old
Myself, circa 1991 about 26 years old
My daughter, circa 2012 at 26 years old
I love to see how my grandmother and my daughter have the same eyes and intensity.
Then my mother and myself look so much alike.
Cool retrospective!
This needs to be a scrapbook page!!

Charlie Brown Tree makeover!
Happy Day Ya'll!
I love this reindeer!
My twinnie and I were out shopping trying to figure out what to do with this tree. And voila! We found these wooden reindeer for 11 cents. Unfortunately there were only 3. Had to place them strategically on the tree, but they are so glamorous!
Here's a before picture of this tree, nothing wrong with it, but I wanted something different!
I spray painted the tree-which by the way, can be done. I sprayed and sprayed and sprayed until I got the desired look. Which ended up a coppery, goldish tone.
Topper, beaded fruit and lots of glue!! Pearl garland, gold balls and red cardinals and gold pinecones = glamour!!
up close of pine cone...
To fill the middle of the tree I added the beaded fruit in the middle. E6000 is your friend. (google it)

Merry Christmas Darlin' duex
Yesterday on this posting, I told you about miniature xmas trees I created for our staff meeting. Here's tree number 2.
I call it my "Naughty or Nice" tree. I found all of the decorations at the Dollar General store. This cute little ornament was $1 and it MADE the tree!
This tree was a remake from a silent auction tree that needed a little bit of pizzazz!
Which have you been this year?
Come back tomorrow for a view of this tree:

Tulle is a great, inexpensive way to fill in those gaps.
This little Naughty and Nice tags were from toothpick toppers, I yanked the toothpicks out and glued the tags to chocolate kisses.
The second best find was a kitchen towel in the same them. NIiiiccceee!

Merry Christmas Everyone
I had such fun this past few weeks creating miniature Christmas trees for our staff meeting. The following were given away as door prizes. Now, because I want you to come back next time, I'm only going to only give you a few pieces. Come back tomorrow!
I found this boot at Hobby Lobby, perfect for this cowboy/horse themed tree! I was so excited! The sheriff star is a party favor. Note the star garland and burlap accents.
Since these trees were for our holiday staff luncheon I wanted this tree to honor our Girl Scout camp were our 40 horses live. at the top of this photo is just a little peek of one of the horse trading cards added to this tree. This particular horse is running. Below the trading card is a bell that made a fun jingle!
Last picture of this tree. I was so proud to use shoe strings and strips of a bandanna to make these lassos! Yippeee ki OH!
Come back tomorrow to find out about THIS tree!

I had to add this photo, my MR added some scratches to the bottom(top) of this boot to make it look realistic. Note, the kitten in the background. She was watching the birds out the window!
You just never know what will work on any particular themed. I was walking through the Dollar Tree and saw these clips in the hard ware section. "Ding!" a light bulb went off as I thought the bright red would really pop on this tree.

Define Good
Dear Santa,
Define Good.
Isn't that great?
Watch for a better picture in the next few days as I fill the tree just a bit more.
Define Good.
Isn't that great?
Before this little tree looked like this,
Nothing at all wrong with this little tree, chocolate kisses all over it. Who wouldn't want this little tree?
This little tree was entered into a silent auction I was hosting this past weekend, unfortunately it wasn't "show-Y" enough to capture many bids. My boss ended up bidding on the tree and now this beauty will make a second appearance at our staff meeting. One lucky staff person will take this little tree home!
Watch for a better picture in the next few days as I fill the tree just a bit more.

Road trip!
Today I'm posting a layout for Red Carpet Studios challenge blog. This week we are featuring layouts inspired by the Griswald Christmas vacation.
Although my photo and layout are not nearly as funny as the Griswald's. But it was a Christmas vacation to Patriots Point in South Carolina.
It a really interesting part of our history and has some very different places to see . Oh, and if you have a fella in your life, it would be guy heaven!!

Punkin N Pie
Twas the night before Friday and all through the house,
not a creature was stirring not even a spouse.
The stockings were hung after washing with care
on the shower curtain to get some air.
The kitten was nestled all snug in our bed
with visions of yummy treats dancing in her head.
When out on the deck there arose such a clatter,
I slowly crawled off the bed to see what was the matter.
From the window I could see in a flash
The noise was from a crash.
When what to my wonder and eyes did appear
But 5 magnificent pumpkins almost like spheres.
Why who would've believed the Great Pumpkin was real!
Linus has been telling us for years and years,
but no one would believe and it left him in tears.
But lo and behold on my deck there they were,
all orange and round and left there for her!
Oh, what should a girl do with a deck full of orange,
but pull out the spray paint and adorn the great beauties!

Time travel to Women's Right to vote USA
I am compelled to write a posting regarding women's right to vote!
Less than 100 years ago women in the USA weren't allowed to vote!
Women’s suffrage at the state level was first granted by Wyoming in 1869. The most receptive region of the country to equal suffrage was the West. As women gained the right to vote in school and municipal elections, some state governments allowed them to vote in national elections. But, in general, women’s suffrage was denied in national elections until the beginning of the Roaring Twenties.

Dirty little people
I don't really have anything to say about dirty little people, except maybe wasn't it a song way back when?
Scroll all the way to the end of this posting to see the song I was talking about. Can't believe we really liked that song back when. It's stupid!!
But, either way, did the blog posting title catch your attention? If so, comment and tell me what you thought the posting was about! I'm in a giveaway kinda mood...I'll send one of you lovely readers (randomly chosen) some little prezzie!
Now that I have your attention, please stick around....
Red Carpet Studio Design Challenge is hosting another challenge this week.
It's a layout challenge, so grab a photo, put it together in a CAS fashion and enter into the contest. This week the winner will win a $25 gift certificate from The Paper Parade (durn I wish I could enter!)
This is a clean and simple layout, I love the technique that is popular today to splatter paint...There's a trick to make it look random, but good at the same time. I haven't quite got the hang of that yet.
The little brown eyed girl, featured here is showing off her plate of food during our family reunion in 1998. What I don't have a picture of and wish I did, was later in the day, the little brown eyed girl and her cousin(let's call her the little dark haired girl) got in a fist fight.
Yep
that's right
first time I saw my daughter stand up to someone and not back down. Never did find out what that fight was about. I think I'll run over to my little dark haired niece's facebook and ask her about. Surely, now the truth can be told!
In the top left corner I used some clear, glittery stickers spelling EAT.
Because who doesn't like to eat? Besides, we have proof I like to eat--we've talked about that before and my girlish figure.
Hope you'll join us at the Red Carpet Studio Design Challenge!
If I can't win that great prize, maybe you can.
Run, don't walk.
See you next time!!
